Edina Schools was recently announced as one of 10 global winners of a campaign put on by Google Apps. Called Gone Google, the campaign asked organizations and companies from around the world to share how they have integrated Google Apps into their workflow for the better. Edina Schools was one of six places from the US selected.
As a parent of children in the Edina School system, I can’t explain how nice it is to be able to check what homework is due on a public Google Doc, or be able to see what spots are open for a volunteer opportunity and then be able to sign up right away…all online. I can only hope that they use this public success to go further, integrating teaching videos, audio, and interactive student components to make the great schools they have even better.
